2 Go Global returned to the U.S.A. for a very important event...the wedding of our good friends Damion (otherwise known as "Doctor Leisure", "The Good Doctor of Leisure", "The Good Doctor" or "Doc", for short) and Lissa. Our flight from Lima stopped in Atlanta, where we had six hours to get our final immunization shots, repack (leaving some items and picking up others) and see our brother and sister in law, Donnie and Emily as well as good friends: Bill, Ginger, Chris, Scott, Amanda, Jack, Kirk and Monica who were kind enough to meet us during our short stop over. We really wish that we would have taken a photo, but we were very rushed and simply forgot. After a fun but quick six hours, it was back to Hartsfield Airport for our connecting flight to Phoenix. When our flight arrived at 12:30 a.m., our great friend, Mark Brochu, was there to greet us at the gate. We spent two days in the Brochu mansion with Mark and Josie and their adorable son, Thor. Then it was time to begin the wedding festivities! The wedding was beautiful and great fun! We hope that you enjoy the photos! The day after the wedding, we flew to Las Vegas to spend some time with Rich's parents. It was great seeing them, as we enjoyed some great meals and Tessa's famous fried rice. The casinos weren't bad either!
Mark, Josie and little baby Thor treated us with amazing hospitality...from the Willis West Wing where we stayed to the wonderful meals they cooked and bought for us! We look forward to returning the favor in Atlanta some day.
Here are Maureen, Kelly, Rich, Doc, Lissa and Dave gathered poolside at the beautiful home of Doc and Lissa. Even in the midst of throwing the wedding, Doc and Lissa were kind enough to host a gathering for a group of us at their home for a relaxing afternoon of swimming and drinking.
Here, some of the group that traveled from Michigan pose for a photo in Andrew's suite, which we affectionately dubbed "The Hospitality Suite". Unfortunately, none of 1100 square feet, two levels, nor three complete beds were enough to provide Andrew with a place to sleep on the night of the wedding, as other revelers gladly helped themselves to the facilities.
Here, the wedding party rehearses for the big event. Doc seems very calm for somebody who is hosting a rehearsal dinner at his home (along with fiance Lissa) just two hours later!!
The Gazebo is ready for the wedding of Damion and Lissa several hours before the guests are to arrive. Both the wedding ceremony and reception were held at the beautiful Scottsdale Plaza Resort. Conveniently, many of us stayed there as well, as did the wedding couple on their wedding night.
Lissa and Mother, Anita, have their hair done by Monica before the wedding. Doesn't she look smashing?
Meanwhile, Dave helps Damion with his boutonnière, as Damion is too nervous to do it himself. The staging area for the groom and the groomsmen was, of course , The Hospitality Suite.
Rich and Damion are looking fine as they get ready to go outside for the pre-wedding photos. Damion, as he left the Hospitality Suite, was overheard remarking, "Let's light this candle!".
Andrew, Mike and Damion pose for a pre-wedding photo.
Damion kisses the bride upon seeing her for the first time in her wedding dress. The wedding party gathered shortly before the ceremony to take pre-wedding photos.
The Bride and her bridesmaids, Maureen, Trisha, Tracie, Suzanne, Kim and Kelly smile for the camera as they think about the fun times they had at the batcholorette party just two nights before.
Lisa and Damion pose for a photograph with Damion's mother and father.
Music for the wedding was provided by Ben who performed beautifully with his acoustic guitars.
Lissa and her father get ready to walk down the aisle. Tracie, Lissa's maid of honor is to the right of Lissa. Tracie did a great job organizing the pre-wedding events.
After a beautiful wedding and wonderful reception, many of us, including Doc and Lissa, amazingly had the energy to gather at The Hospitality Suite for further festivities. Here, the newly wed Mr. and Mrs. Damion Remsberg bid adieu as they leave this post wedding celebration. They left the following day for their honeymoon in Hawaii.
