The Galápagos Islands were Heaven on Earth! These beautiful islands and the creatures that inhabit them, along with the wonderful group that we traveled with and the beautiful sailing vessel that we traveled on, made for one of the most wonderful experiences of our lives. We recommend to everyone reading this web site that they start planning their trip to the Galápagos immediately! We have decided to divide our Galápagos photos by island, as each island has its own personality. The SAMBA at sunset. When we arrived at the Galápagos Islands, we went directly to the Island of Santa Cruz, to Porta Ayora and searched for our perfect Galápagos cruise that was hopefully leaving that same evening or the following day at the latest. After much searching and contemplation, we decided on The Samba Yacht which is owned by Andando Tours. Thank you Richard and Emma for the recommendation. We were very fortunate to learn that there were two open spots, as everyone on the island told us that the Samba was always full. We were to meet our ship at 6:00 p.m. Since we had a little extra time, we also visited the Charles Darwin Research Center. There we saw giant land tortoises, the most recognized symbol of the Galápagos. At 6:00 p.m., we met our tour guide, Hernan and the other nine members of our group and headed to The Samba. We were so excited when we saw our beautiful yacht!! It was luxurious well beyond our expectations.
The top bunk of our home on the Galápagos, Cabin 1.

Entrance to our wonderful powder room which, by the way, had all of the hot water that we could ask for! While our cabin was necessarily small, it was very comfortable and stylish, trimmed with oak and decorated with two bunk beds covered with crisp white sheets and blankets that were freshly made by the great crew each day. We were living well!
