The third Central American country that we visited was Honduras. We have found Honduras to be a beautiful country with its lush green hills, friendly people, good food, and inexpensive living. The guara roja, also known as the scarlet macaw, is the national bird of Honduras. It is also on the endangered species list. We were fortunate enough to see this beautiful bird flying around the Copan Ruins.
